Member
In order to build a lab which is identical to my production domain, I can take a Backup of my root and child domain and restore that in my isolated lab and seize the FSMO role and i am good to go isnt it?

Kerry,
not sure why you would need to seize FSMO roles (I guess you are not backing
up/restoring your FSMO holder), but you will need to do a bit of extra
clean-up - primarily involving cleaning removing all references to prod
domain controllers which don't exist in the lab (more info at
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=216498). Note also that none of your
computer accounts will be valid.
