Hi,

I am trying to bind AD to ADAM.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc755803(WS.10).aspx

I was able to create sync and then I followed this link and tried to change
Users to Proxy Users in my ADAM Instances. I has changed some users to
user-proxy and some are still the same "USER".

http://blogs.technet.com/efleis/archive/2005/09/23/adamsync- can-also-transform-users-in-to-proxy-users.aspx

Any suggestions?

Hi
the transform to proxy takes place when an object of the source
class is first sync'ed to an object of the target class. If you
install a clean ADAM instance and then install and sync with
an XML configuration file that specifies the transform do you
get mixed results?

Thanks

Lee,

1. I installed a Clean ADAM Instance.
2. Then using ADAM Sync synchronized the ADAM Instance with AD.
3. Then I changed the xml file for converting user to userproxy.
4. Then used ADAM Sync to change user to userproxy.

I got mixed results for this procedure. I tried removing the instance and
did the same procedure.. Still got mixed results. Please let me know where i
am wrong

Hi

can we see a copy of your ADAMsync XML configuration
file and a dump from ADAM of an example object that did not
get transformed?

Thanks
Lee Flight

Hi
thanks and can we see the dump [1] of the object in ADAM
that did not get transformed on sync?

Thanks
Lee Flight

[1] e.g. navigate to the object using ldp.exe and post a copy
of the output of object attributes for the offending object.

Lee,

I am not a AD/ADAM person. I am learning ADAM recently. In LDP, you want me
to navigate to user(eg: Mary Bayer) and want me to copy the output for you?
or go to schema and copy the User/Userproxy and copy that for you??

Hi
as below for the user that failed to get tranformed,
if we can see the output for both AD and ADAM for that
user that might help.

Thanks

Hi

see [1], basically you need to open the ADAM version of ldp.exe,
connect and then bind and then from the View menu select
Tree and in the dropdown select your naming context and then in the
left-hand pane
navigate to the object of interest.
The same procedure should work when you specify an AD DC in
the connection dialog
