Recently, I've been seeing the following even being logged on my computer,
ID: 40961
The Security System could not establish a secured connection with the server
DNS/nameofthednsserver. No authentication protocol was available.

The odd thing is that our DNS is not even Windows, it's BIND DNS.
Any ideas?

Thanks.

Usually just having a reverse zone for your subnet and your DCs having a PTR
in the zone, should eliminate this, whether Windows, BIND, or any other DNS.
If a reverse zone already exists with a PTR, then the problem could lie
elsewhere. Take a look at this link to see if it helps.

I hope that helps!

<p>It's not odd.  It's exactly why you're seeing the message.  <a
