okay i receive a call from a student who cant access her my documents
folder , she has access to her desktop , redircted start menu and
program files just not her my documents folder. i checked all
permissions and they are fine i set them to FC under her login, and
still no good.

the error she gets is Restrictions "this operation has been cancelled
due to restrictions in effect on this computer. contct ur admin"-

now this sounds to me as a policy blocking this action, but there is no
such policy in place.

now when i move her out the "student" OU and put her in the teachers OU
she is fine and can get to her my documents, no problem????

she is the only student that i am aware of that is having this issue in
that OU

When i created a new user under the same OU the outcome was the same.
no access to "my Docs".

this AD was set-up prior to me and everything and i mean everything
was implemented at the top, inside of the default domain policy, my
thought is that the default domain policy is corrupted. any thoughts???
any sugesstions?

thanks

Are you redirecting My Documents to a network server? If so, does the user
have rights to access that server?

Is the user in a group you're using for My Docs redirection?
As Marcin asked, does she have Full Control on the Share AND the Security
tab? I know you said she has all permissions, but just needed to clarify
that she has on both share and security tab.

When you created a new user in the same OU, you said there was no access to
My Docs. Was this on the same desktop as the other user, or on a different
desktop? If the same desktop, then I would suspect the desktop, but if it
doesn't work on any desktop that the new user or the user with the problem
is logging on to, then I would suspect that the GPO on that OU is causing
the problem or restriction.

What settings are in the GPO linked to the Student OU? Run an RSOP for the
machine and for the student in that OU and compare to an RSOP for the same
student in the Teachers OU. Compare, and report your findings, please.

Hi,

Reset the roaming profile and My docs for the user, and enable Full control
permissions on the new folders you create for profile/ My docs - hopefully
this works...
(This can act as a workaround)
