how can i setup my Active directory running on win2003 server that allows my
client computers to be able to connect even if Active directory server is
not avaiable?

If the clients already have a profile established on the local PC, they
will be able to login using cached credentials by default. That likely
won't help them much though because with AD down your DNS will be down
too and they won't be able to browse the Internet or get to local
servers by name unless you have also enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
Another issue you will face is DHCP if it too is on the DCs.

Hope that helps,

Mark is right. Once a user has successfully authenticated on a machine
once, she can re-login on that machine even if no DC is around. That's
what cached credentials can do.

Due to the logon and security architecture, she won't be able to access
any services or other servers. You need Active Directory to access other
services.

Cheers,
Florian

Connect to what?
Your users will be able to log into the domain on their workstations even if
the servers are alll down, but they won't be able to *do* anything much.

Hello Cem,

They have to logon to the domain once and then they can use cached credentials
as described from the others.
