hello, Ace and Meinolf

Some weeks ago you provided an advice in how to fix a domain trust issue and
althought I was able to validate the domain trust, I'm still having some
issues.
I have a DC that is acting as a fileserver and whenever I try to assing
access permissions to users from the other domain i get a message that says
"The following error prevented the display of any item: The server is not
operational"

other than the domain trust - DNS issue i had i have not tried anything to
fix it yet.

Thanks

Simon

Ace, Meinolf, thanks for your responses.

I deleted the zone I created in both domains and I setup condition forwards
and it worked.

Thanks Again

Simon

I looked back to see if you had added search suffixes on one domain machines
for the other domain's DNS suffix, and vice versa. It is also possible that
the trust has failed. Go back into the trust properties and verify the
trust.

Did you also add the Domain Admins to the Local admins group of the other
domain and vice versa, as I mentioned in our earlier thread? I remember
posting a bunch of info, but you never replied back specifically if you had
followed that, ipconfig info, or anything else other than just saying you
created a conditional Forwarder. So not sure where to take it without
additional info. I understand if reluctant to post to a public forum, but
it's hard to tell other than stating basics, or even not knowing what
troubleshooting tasks you've already tried, if any, or even any Event log
errors.

Can you help us out?

Ace
