DC #2 : 1/5 FSMO, DNS

can i have DC #1 on 10.0.0.0 subnet (vlan 1) and DC #2 on 10.0.1.0 subnet

routing is enable between the 2 vlans

Hello bwrc,

Yes, you can separate DCs in a routed network wtihout any problem. I then
would make all DCs Global catalog server, no problem in a single forest domain
like domain.com, also in a single forest domain is no need to split the FSMO
roles. I assume 1/5 is the Infrastrucutre master role?

In addition to advice from Meinolf, you might want to consider splitting
your scopes and setting up redundant DHCP configuration...

Hi

ok

you're right.

As i have to change the subnet scope in a firm, i will change first 1 DC,
then all member servers during severals day, and the last DC at the end.
No interrupted service

thanks
