Is it possible to change the "extensionAttribute 1" label to other?

Hello gallen88@live.com,

I would not change the attribute name in the schema. If there is in Exchange
some code looking for that attribute and you change it this will result in
an error. So change the value of it but not the attribute name itself. it
may work with changed name but at least when upgrading to the next Exchange
generation the new schema is checking for the original displayname and the
schema upgrade can fail.

Best regards

It also doesn't really buy you anything. If you need an attribute called
"Staff_ID", just create one. It won't change the size of the directory in
any important way and you'll be certain that no one will ever step on your
schema extension.

Note that you should put a prefix on the name of your attribute to help
ensure uniqueness. You usually derive this from the company name like
"acme-staffID" or something like that.

Or you could just use the exising attribute employeeID. It doesn't show in
ADUC though. You would need to use ADSIEdit, a custom snap-in or a script to
view modify it. There are quite a few articles about is if you google it as
it's a common request.
