hi again,
am trying to fix my corrupted 2003 sbs server 2003.
it is so badly corrupted that almost nothing runs properly and when trying
to do reinstall/repair was asked for key and since lost could only get the
same version but as R2.
What is the diffrence?
Can I do a repair option with the R2 disk inserted over my older version?
Is it possible -how do you do it to (install R2 over the top of older
version and keep user settings/profiles etc)
thanking you in advance.
regards

Hello Eric,

R2 is a feature pack for 2003 which requires an additional license. A 2003
R2 version consist of 2 installation disk's, disk1 the "normal" 2003 installation
and disk2 with the additional R2 features. Not sure if this also is the case
for SBS version.

But as you stated that SBS is in use i strongly recommend to post to:
microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs

or

https://connect.microsoft.com/sbs08/community/discussion/ric hui/default.aspx

Additional post the problems you have with detailed description and event
viewer erorrs or displayed error messages. Otherwise helping you without
additional information will be a mess.
