I have a server which is running 2003 Std edition R2 SP2, Xeon quad core
processors, and 4GB of memory. I'm close to using up the 4GB of memory and
need to add more memory to the server. But with Std 4GB is all I can use. So
---- that tells me I must upgrade from std edition to Enterprise.

Is this just a simple in place upgrade - all of my current settings/software
will still work with the upgrade to Enterprise ?

Thanks,
Bob

I could be wrong,...but I don't think the Enterprise Edition is what you are
looking for. What you are looking for is the 64bit version of 2003 STD
Edition. You hardware has to be capable of running it.

I don't know if it is even "upgradable",...you may have to load from
scratch.

Hello Bob,

Philipp is correct. The 64bit 2003 Standard edition can support up to 32GB
RAM.

Even the software I'm running on the current server as lost as it's capable
of running 64 bit that should be ok.

Hello Bob,

Unfortunal you can not upgrade 32bit to 64bit, it requires a reinstall.
