Hi,

I'm migrating content from w2k3 to w2k8.

For export import I use subinacl.exe tool.
SubInAcl version 5.2.3790.1180

When I import ACEs on new server there is a problem with ACEs oredering.
I can do reorder over GUI ACL editor.
This is not solution in my case beacuse I need to migrate thousands of
folders.

subinacl /noverbose /outputlog=[path] /subdirectories=directoriesonly
[object_name] /findsid=[user]
subinacl /playfile [path]

Is there newer version which fix this?

I tried with icacls [object] /verify, but it only show which folder doesn't
have properly oredered ACEs.
It doesn't reorder ACE or I do something wrong.

Can you suggest how to resolve this problem?

Hello Darko,

If you talk about a server in the same domain you can use robocopy included
within 2008. It has an option to mirror all including the security. So if
you give some more info about the network you have it will be easier to help
you.

Best regards

Hi Meinolf,

yes servers are in same domain.

I use robocopy for migrate content but I dont use robocopy to copy ACLs
beacuse I want to move only specific ACEs.
So I use subinacl and /findsid=[user].

Problem is that after I run subinacl /playfile [path] ACEs on modified
folder/files aren't ordered properly.

I'm trying to fix this.
I tried with <icacls [object] /verify> but it didn't help.

If you need any other data just say.
