I prolly read too much about it to see the solution ...

I have a shared folder called "Transport_department"

Carl, Dave and John each have a subfolder.
Carl, Dave and John are the only members of security group "Transport",
and only members of Transport have access to Transport_department.

That's easy enough, share permissions suffice.

But Ann, Vanessa and Cynthia are members of the secgroup "Personnel".
The secgroup Personnel needs to access Dave's folder, but be denied
access of anything else.

What share and sec settings do I need at the shared folder ?
And what share and sec settings at Dave's folder ?

Thanks a lot cos this is driving me crazy.

regards

Do the above then
Share the Dave folder and grant share access to the Personnel group. The
transport group use the Transport_department share and Personnel use the Dave
share.

There are 10 types of people, those that understand binary and those that don't.
