Hello,

I have some playing time with this OS on the test environment. Now I want
to move it to the live environment. It will still be a test box without
joining the domain.

This will be a standalone machine. Do you see any problems that might
interfere with my current live servers. We are still on windows 2003 & 2000
(DCs are 2003). I am testing RemoteApp for the sole reason.

The reason I asked is I read somewhere the windows 2008 changes the schema
of the 2003 AD, etc. The contacts become containers when viewing the ADUC.

Just making sure.

John

I can't see any problems, even if you do join it to the existing domain. I
have had 2008 servers running in 2003 domains with no problems.

You will need to update the AD schema if you want to promote it to a DC.

Thanks guys. Just making sure since the box I am testing doesn't interfere
with terminal services, web, etc with the live servers since they both have
the same services.
