Hello Nicolas,

Thank you for posting here.

Before we move on, could you please collect the following information so
that we can perform further analysis on the issue?

1. What is the detailed error message you can see? If possible, please take
a screenshot of the error message and send to us.

2. Did you encounter the error message when you perform a backup with
Windows Server Backup GUI or Wbadmin command line?

3. What is the detailed disk configuration?

4. Please run the MPS report to collect the information that we need.

a. Download proper MPS Report tool from the website below.

Microsoft Product Support Reports
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=CEB F3C7C-7CA5-408F-
88B7-F9C79B7306C0&displaylang=en

b. Double-click to run it, if requirement is not met, please follow the
wizard to download and install them. After that, click Next, when the
"Select the diagnostics you want to run" page appears, select "General",
<and other necessary catalog>, click Next.

c. After collecting all log files, choose "Save the results", choose a
folder to save <Computername>MPSReports.cab file.

5. Meanwhile, please download the Wbdiag diagnostic tool from the following
link, and then refer to the usage.rtf to collect the diagnostic logs

Wbdiag
http://cid-26139043773c1011.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/.P ublic/Troublesho
oter?uc=1&isFromRichUpload=1&lc=1033

Please note: The data collected is saved in the WBDiag-yyyy-mm-dd-hh-mm-ss
directory. Zip

Please send the mps report, logs and screenshot to tfwst@microsoft.com

Besides, based on the experience, when we use Windows Sever Backup GUI to
take the backup to dynamic disk, the Windows Server Backup GUI will block
the Dynamic disk as the target backup media.

Currently as a workaround, please try using wbadmin command line tool to
take a system state backup to a dynamic disk.

For example:

F: is a dynamic disk volume, to take system state backup onto it, you may
use:

Wbadmin start systemstatebackup -backuptarget:F:

You may try the above command line on your side, and see if it issue still
continues.

I appreciate your time and effort.

Thank you for the co-operation.
