I'm trying to diagnose a problem I'm having with a domain computer.

It's not part of any of the domain security groups like (Domain
Computers). I've disjoined and rejoined the machine to the domain as
well as restarted it multiple times and forced the GPO's to update.

I'm also getting Event ID 1054 from UserEnv on that machine. It says it
cannot obtain the domain controller name, yet all of the User based
security groups (and GPOs) seem to be applying?

The Workstation is XP w/ SP2 and the DC is SBS 2003 partially migrated
to SBS 2008. I have a another week and a half or so before I need to
take the SBS 2003 machine offline.

What could I check for here?

TIA! :)

My first guess would be you have a dns issue between the client and the dns
server. Check the dns settings on the client against a working client and
validate that it is setup correctly.
