I am getting Event ID: 5774 on the DC.

DNS server isn't Windows, it's Unix BIND and it doesn't allow host records
to be registered automatically.

domain name = corp.domain.com

dc name = play.

It's trying to register its domain name as an A record. Is this something I
need to be looking into?

Event ID: 5774
The dynamic registration of the DNS record 'corp.domain.com. 600 IN A
192.168.1.19' failed on the following DNS server:

DNS server IP address: 192.168.1.10
Returned Response Code (RCODE): 5
Returned Status Code: 9017
For computers and users to locate this domain controller, this record must
be registered in DNS.

Hello gira,

The DC must be registered with its name in the DNS zones. So youh ave to
create it manual if automatic registration is not possible.

What about srv records? If the dc's aren't allowed to auto register you
have a lot of records you will need to register. I would strongly urge you
to allow this or create a seperate zone for AD and then use the BIND server
as a secondary for AD.
