Hello,

It seem some of our Group Policy are not working (maybe all), what is the
best way to troubleshoot this first? I've not had too much experience with
GPO's? Just wondered if you have any tips?

Thanks

Hello Whiteford,

Not working is not really a good description. Make sure the user/computer
accoutns are in the OU where the GPOs are linked to, GPOs apply ONLY to user/computer
accounts. If this is the case run gpresult /v and rsop.msc on a client logged
on with a user account and check if the GPOs are listed and of the settings
are shown correct.

Also importatn is that all computers use only domain DNS servers on the NIC
and none else.

Meinolf's right - you need to provide more info here. There may be a
hundred reasons why Group Policy is not working. Almost half of them
because of incorrect configuration or insufficient preparation. What
kind of policy did you try? Where did you link it (OU, objects in OU)?
Are clients configured to use the DC as the DNS server?

Cheers,
Florian

And I am reiterating everyone's suggestion that we need configuration info
to formulate any sort of reasonable response for assistance. There are
numerous causes for GPOs to "not work."

To give us a start, please post:

Unedited ipconfig /all of two of your DCs.
Unedited ipconfig /all from a sample workstation
Event Log errors (post the EventID# and Source names of any errors in the
DCs and workstations.
Run a gpresult on the workstation and post it, please.

Thanks you.
