Can applock group policy be hosted on Windows 2003/2008 domain controllers?

See here how to use GPOs for Applocker:

You need at least Windows 7 Windows server 2008 or Windows server 2008 R2.

I don't think that is entirely accurate. I believe in my testing you just
needed a windows 7 machine to administer the policy but that 2003 servers
could push out the setting. Also remember that applocker is only in Windows
7 enterprise and up so you can not use applocker on vista or xp.


I would recommend creating the central store for you admx and adml files
though even on a 2003 domain you can gain performance gains if you plan
everything correctly.
